We’ve been nominated for
an HSJ Award

We’re delighted to share that our ‘Don’t Be Missed’ campaign, created in partnership with South East London Cancer Alliance, has been shortlisted for the Health Service Journal Awards 2026 in the NHS Communications Initiative of the Year category.

The campaign encourages more people to take up potentially life-saving lung health checks, the work combined insight-led strategy, bold creative and targeted communications to reach those most at risk. We’re also looking forward to rolling out this campaign more widely with cancer alliances across the country.

We’re incredibly proud to see this important work recognised and grateful to everyone who helped bring it to life.

Congratulations to everyone involved and to all the other finalists.

Fresh air, forests and feel good vibes with Matt Pritchard 🌳

As part of our Climate Action Wales campaign, we’re working with Matt Pritchard to encourage more people to get out and enjoy the natural environment on their doorstep in Wales. As always, we had great fun creating content with Matt, whose energy and enthusiasm for the outdoors is infectious.

In his latest adventure, Matt headed to Llwybr Coedwig Cymru (The Wales Forest Trail), taking in the fresh air, stunning scenery, a zero-waste picnic and, of course, fitting in a few burpees along the way.

Spending time outdoors is one of the easiest ways to boost both your physical and mental wellbeing. With incredible forests, hills, coastlines and green spaces across Wales, getting outside doesn’t have to be a major expedition either. Even a short walk can help you reconnect with nature and appreciate the places that make Wales so special.

Thanks again Matt, always good fun working with you.

Inspiring the next generation

Rich and Tom joined a talented group of Master’s students from the University of Bristol, who presented their responses to an innovation brief, set by none other than the SBW team. The event showcased a range of creative thinking, strategic insight, and innovative solutions, with students bringing their ideas to life through an impressive collection of prototypes. Different teams got to share their concepts and demonstrate their approaches to tackling the challenge.

Working with students in this way was a fantastic opportunity to support emerging talent while gaining fresh perspectives on industry challenges. The standard of work on display was incredibly high, reflecting both the students’ hard work and the strength of innovative thinking coming through from the next generation of marketers.

A huge thank you to everyone who took part and presented their ideas. We were thoroughly impressed by the creativity and enthusiasm on show, and we’re already looking forward to seeing what they come up with next, as we’ll soon be setting a fresh group of students with another challenging brief.

Cameras out for Careers Wales in sunny Newport 🎥

Rich and Eva headed to Newport for an exciting photoshoot with Careers Wales this month. Careers Wales and Working Wales provide invaluable guidance for young people and adults alike, helping individuals explore their options, make informed educational choices, and develop career plans that align with their aspirations. The campaign shines a spotlight on the support available, raising awareness of the resources and advice on offer at different times of the year. The aim is to connect young people and their families with trusted guidance at a pivotal stage in their lives, ensuring they know where to turn when making decisions about their next steps.

The day itself was a huge success, with plenty of great content captured to help bring the campaign to life. We’d like to say a big thank you to Careers Wales for welcoming us to their Newport home, to all the volunteers who generously gave their time to take part in the shoot, and to Ben, our fantastic photographer, whose friendly approach helped everyone feel comfortable in front of the camera while keeping the day running smoothly.

We’re looking forward to seeing the campaign roll out in the near future and helping Careers Wales and Working Wales continue their important work in supporting the next generation as they take their first steps towards their future careers.

Finally…who doesn’t love a bit of first aid training

This month, Eva completed a day of First Aid training in line with the Health & Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981. While it served as a valuable refresher on the fundamentals, it was also a timely reminder of just how important these skills are, both in the workplace and in everyday life.

One of the highlights of the day was meeting a diverse group of Bristol locals, from business owners and taxi drivers to social workers, all united by a shared commitment to helping others when it matters most. It was inspiring to see so many people investing their time in developing skills that can make a real difference.

A truly insightful day run by First Aid Education LTD, who expertly balanced a challenging subject matter with engaged learning. A huge thank you to the team for providing these important opportunities within our local community.

That’s it for this month! See you soon.
